Delivering Healthy Ambitions
NHS Yorkshire and the Humber have published Delivering Healthy Ambitions, outlining how the NHS in Yorkshire and the Humber will adapt to face the challenges of the next 10 years.The report builds on the work done as part of a national review of the NHS to offer local people modern health and healthcare. The document outlines how improvements will be made and who will be involved in the process.
Delivering Healthy Ambitions comes after the comprehensive Next Stage Review, carried out in 2007/08 which looked into each aspect of healthcare from maternity to end of life, and how they could be improved in Yorkshire and the Humber. The review findings were published in a document called Healthy Ambitions. The wide ranging recommendations outlined major improvements including tackling obesity, saving lives with better stroke care and helping people to die at home rather than in hospital.
PCTs are now engaged in turning the plans into reality, and Agencia is in turn preparing to be able to support local implementation.
