Agencia Tackles Zip Wire Challenge for Dementia UK
Members of the Agencia team are taking their work in support of dementia sufferers' one step further and seeking to raise awareness and funds for Dementia UK, a charity close to their hearts.
Four of Agencia’s team members; Graham Barnett, Helen Gibson, Steve Jacobs and Victoria Austin along with Victoria’s son Leon, are soon to take to the skies for the Zip Wire Challenge. This will involve zipping across the waters of the Manchester Shipyard (a distance of 250m), with the aim of landing gracefully in front of the Lowry, located at the Imperial War Museum.
The sponsored event is on the 13th October and is being supported by Agencia. However, the team wish to raise as much sponsorship as possible, so please feel free to support them http://www.justgiving.com/agenciaconsulting
One of the biggest issues in today’s society is the fact that we are all living longer. Agencia has been heavily involved in helping social care and health organisations identify how services need to change to take account of the rising numbers of older people. Not only are there more people living longer, but their needs and aspirations are also different from previous generations, with a far greater emphasis on independence and self-directed care.
Speaking about the event, Victoria Austin (Agencia’s Business Development Manager) said:
“Agencia is well known for its work in health and social care. Indeed, dementia has become one of our areas of recognised expertise. We are involved in advising and supporting organisations in remodelling and improving services for people with dementia. In undertaking our work, we have become acutely aware of the need to raise awareness and funds for people with dementia. The Dementia UK zip wire challenge is a great, fun way of doing this.”
