Agencia Supports Lifestyle
For the third year running, Agencia has been pleased to sponsor a prize at the annual Lifestyle awards.
Lifestyle is a Humberside Police initiative, established in 1989, with the following aims:
- To encourage active citizenship, social responsibility and community spirit.
- To encourage team spirit.
- To reduce criminality by young persons and the fear of crime associated with antisocial behaviour.
- To encourage positive con-tact between the Humberside Police, young people and other bodies and agencies.
Agencia has provided sponsorship for an adventure holiday for one of the winning teams since 2007, and we are delighted that this year’s recipients are:
The Graffiti Busters
Joshua Ashton, Thomas Ashton, Calum Ayre and Nathan Davies. (Beverley Grammar School, Kingswood College of Arts and Wawne Primary School)
The village hall in Wawne had been badly vandalised with graffiti and this team decided to redress the balance to show that not all kids are bad kids! PCSO Bainton stepped in to help with an offer of graffiti remover, and who would have thought it could be so much fun when the power washer arrived! Pyracantha and Virginia creepers were then planted along the walls so that the problem does not re-occur.
The team manned a stall at a local fete to raise funds to purchase a sturdy picnic bench for their school, and also wanted to create a nature walkway alongside the village hall. Much hard work was needed to remove nettles and weeds before over 500 spring bulbs, 100 plants and 40 shrubs were planted to completely transform the overgrown footpath.
The Graffiti Busters are now the talk of the village for all the right reasons and their work will provide excellent learning opportunities for years to come. The Agencia team offer them warmest congratulations, and hope that they enjoy their trip to Wales.
