Agencia Consulting launches London study tour for Ukraine judges
As part of its work for the Strategic Programme Fund, administered by the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Agencia Consulting has been working with the Constitutional and Supreme Courts of Ukraine for the past two years. This week sees Agencia Consulting facilitate a study tour in London for Judges from the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
Upon arrival to London, the judges were met by representatives from the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK, and on the first day of the visit were able to attend a debate in the House of Commons, and view the House’s display celebrating the 650th anniversary of the creation of the magistracy in 1361.
Steve Jacobs, International Sector Lead for Agencia Consulting, and organiser of the study tour, said: “The study tour provides Ukrainian judges with an opportunity to visit the UK’s recently created Supreme Court and the much more well-established Westminster Magistrates’ Court. As part of the structured programme, they will be able to sit in court to hear cases, talk with Justices and meet with members of the Crown Prosecution Service and Judicial Training teams.”
The judges will also attend an evening dinner organised by Lord Slynn of the Hadley European Law Foundation, with whom Agencia have been working in partnership to deliver the support to the Supreme Court of Ukraine.
