Ed Washer, Senior Consultant

Following early posts in USA and Australia, Ed moved to England in 1981 to pursue a career in Social Care management and development.  His experience in day services and care management led him to undertake a number of roles within the learning disability services, with a focus on the development of new approaches to care and the integration of services.

Increasingly, Ed’s work has focused on the personalisation agenda, first in the learning disability arena, but latterly under the Transforming Social Care agenda.

Ed has also worked with independent and third sector organisations involved in care, and so has an extensive knowledge of the totality of the social care spectrum.  He undertakes work for Skills for Care, and is also a part time university lecturer in social care at diploma and undergraduate level.  He therefore has a good knowledge of current developments and priorities in social care, which he can bring to bear on his practical field work as a consultant.
